PROGRAMS

Day Shelter

We understand the trials and hardships that come with homelessness. So each guest at Opportunity House will have access to our clothing closet to receive adequate clothing for each season (winter, spring, summer, fall); access to free washing and drying machines to keep clean clothes; toiletries like toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and personal hygiene items; and access to full bathrooms with showers. Each essential service listed has been tailored to provide a dignified experience for all house guests. We also offer tents and backpacks as needed for all chronically homeless guests.

Cabarrus County Community Housing

We have partnered with AYA House to bring a program that is focused on ending cyclical homelessness in Cabarrus County. After extensive research, we've found that many members currently experiencing homelessness, lack a support system, sustainable housing, and accountability measures to help them out of homelessness. Without these key elements in place, a cycle is created that becomes extremely difficult to overcome. The Cabarrus County Community Housing program is an effort that uses public and private resources to end this cycle by addressing the root causes of homelessness and secure permanent housing for participants.

Opportunity House

Re-Entry

What happens when people are recently released from prison and they have nowhere to go? Studies show that recidivism is highly likely in this scenario. To reduce this occurrence, we've researched and partnered with many community providers to create a plan to streamline services for people recently released from jail or prison to help with reintroduction into society. Our goal is to aid people in becoming productive members of society while giving them the tools, materials, and support needed for basic living while they are working toward self-efficiency.
