Thad has been in ministry since the mid 1990s. He was called to preach late in life and has been the pastor of Harmony UMC in Concord since 2012. Before that he managed The Christian Supply Shoppe in Kannapolis for 18 years with his wife and family.
Jim is the pastor of Opportunity House and The Gathering, the congregation affiliated with Opportunity House. He is ordained in the United Methodist Church. Jim grew up on a farm in Illinois and began his career as a mechanical engineer. After working in this capacity for thirty years, he, his wife Linda, and their four boys moved to North Carolina.
Faith Community Nurse
Laura started going to the Narrow Gate services at Forest Hill to do blood pressure screenings. It became very clear that the people in that Faith Community needed a Faith Community Nurse desperately. She has since fallen in love with our community!
Kathy started at Opportunity House two years ago by volunteering to cook breakfast and lunch one day a week for guests. After six months she took over the position as cook and food coordinator. By utilizing food that has been graciously donated she has cut the food budget while also creating delicious and nutritious meals. Kathy loves working at Opportunity House because she believes that this is where God has lead her to serve.
Jojo Skinner recently transitioned into the role of Volunteer Coordinator for Opportunity House, which is a task she performed at other organizations prior to joining Opp House. Jojo recently graduated with her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MAMFT) from Pfeiffer University June 2020.
Communications & Marketing Specialist
Kimani leads the communications, outreach, and branding functions at Opportunity House. He joined our team in 2020 but has been giving back to communities for over 11 years.
